Jan Parker | Flute

Jan Parker is a band instructor in the Appleton Area School District. She has a Bachelor of Music degree from Lawrence University in music education with emphasis in flute performance, and Masters Degrees from Emporia State University (KS) in music education and flute performance. Jan has been a band clinician and judge, flute clinician and judge, and university flute instructor in addition to her public school teaching career. She has been principal flutist in the Emporia Civic Orchestra, Emporia City Band, and the Rockford Wind Ensemble (IL). Jan has played in the Mid-America Woodwind Quintet (KS) as well as the Moraine Area Woodwind Quintet (WI). Jan has been a guest soloist for various performances in Wisconsin, Kansas and Illinois on flute and piccolo. She has been a flute studio teacher since 1980 and is a member of the National Flute Association. In addition, Jan has performed for Kansas Music Educators Conventions, a National Flute Association Convention, and the Rockford Flute Club. While teaching in Kansas and Illinois, Jan has had the privilege of instructing several All-State Musicians, including principal flutists of the KMEA All-State Band and Orchestra.
